Empowering WAIC2025 UAE Forum, GETECH Solves Industrial AI Cross-Border Collaboration Challenges

2025-07-29

On July 28, amidst the bustling activities of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, GETECH was invited to attend the "Intelligent Manufacturing Future: Advanced Technologies Empowering Manufacturing Transformation and Upgrading" forum. This forum, hosted by the UAE-China Innovation Center, was one of the ten specially curated high-level forums within the WAIC 2025 ecosystem segment. Government leaders, industry executives, investment funds, and leading academics from both China and the UAE attended the event, jointly releasing the world's first "China-UAE Smart Manufacturing Complementarity Report and Investment Cooperation Green Paper." During the forum, Li Nan, General Manager of GETECH's Solution and Product Center, participated in a roundtable discussion with Shanghai government representatives, securities analysts, and smart manufacturing leaders on the localization path for next-generation manufacturing, unveiling for the first time an innovative "Three-Tier Data Cross-Border Management" framework.

During the roundtable dialogue, Li Nan systematically elaborated on the challenges and practices of industrial AI localization, with his insights becoming a core highlight. Li Nan stated that the path to achieving global smart manufacturing shares commonalities, with enterprises worldwide following a standard evolution from leanification and automation to digitalization and intelligence, yet significant regional differences exist. For instance, in Southeast Asian projects, 50% of the demand focuses on automation upgrades to replace manual operations; whereas in the Middle East, Chinese companies expanding overseas require more comprehensive whole-plant intelligent solutions. Li Nan also observed that overseas industrial parks are eager to directly import China's mature industrial AI capabilities—such as solutions encompassing data acquisition and various industrial AI Agents—skipping the lower-tier stages.

Li Nan's observations are based on GETECH's deep involvement in serving leading clients in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Currently, GETECH has followed TCL in establishing offices in Saudi Arabia and Dubai and has assisted multiple pan-semiconductor Chinese companies with overseas factories in completing CIM system projects. Additionally, the company has collaborated with local institutions to develop smart manufacturing curriculum systems, cultivating the first batch of industrial AI talent for these regions.

Addressing the challenges of cross-border data coordination encountered during the construction of Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, the world's first zero-carbon, zero-waste standard city, Li Nan unveiled for the first time GETECH's innovative approach to balancing cross-border data synergy with local compliance—the Three-Tier Data Cross-Border Management framework. He categorized data into three types: The first is industrial site data (e.g., equipment machine data), recommended for localized processing of its process parameters at the edge via data classification management to meet millisecond-level response requirements; The second is personal data (e.g., worker information), recommended for strict localized storage to avoid cross-border transmission; The third is operational data (e.g., production value analysis), recommended for desensitization before cross-border transmission to support global production capacity scheduling. This architecture is both compliant and efficient, achieving global synergistic benefit analysis while safeguarding data sovereignty.

As a leading enterprise in industrial AI, GETECH implements its international strategy based on its platform. Since the beginning of this year, it has successively assisted multiple clients in Singapore and Malaysia in completing the construction and deployment of CIM systems, with project delivery cycles far exceeding the market average and achieving 100% customer satisfaction. The company focuses on Southeast Asia and the Middle East as key hubs for its overseas expansion, developing its international business around clients' needs for building, upgrading, and acquiring factories for digital intelligence transformation, while also feeding back Chinese experience to enhance local supply chain collaboration and penetration.

WAIC 2025 signaled an acceleration of smart manufacturing cooperation between China and the UAE. GETECH, adhering firmly to its "AI + Industrial Software + Smart Manufacturing" strategy, is implanting the concept of next-generation manufacturing localization into the global landscape, using Chinese experience to activate local demand. In the future, the company will deepen the export of industrial AI technologies, accumulate digital intelligence capabilities in global scenarios, and set a new benchmark for the globalization of Chinese industrial AI.
